Euclidean triangle congruence tests
Specified matching sides and angles can establish the same triangle shape and size.
Key knowledge
Nondegenerate Euclidean triangles are congruent under matching SSS, SAS, AAS or RHS data. SAS uses the angle between the two sides; AAS uses two angles and a corresponding side; RHS applies to right triangles with matching hypotenuse and one leg.
Conditions and scope
- Specify a consistent correspondence of vertices and use the same length units.
- Congruence permits translations, rotations and reflections; this is a source-backed criterion list, not a new axiomatic proof.
The module treats some tests as axioms; source check is not an independent axiomatic proof.
